Jat Airways is the national airline of Serbia and the former national carrier of Yugoslavia, based at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. It operates scheduled international services to 30 destinations in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, as well as charters and wet leases
On April 16, 2010 the Government of Serbia decided in a conference call to replace Jat Airways with another company, which will become the new national airline of Serbia. The new company will be set up within 75 days, taking over aircraft, necessary personnel and destinations from Jat Airways. Meanwhile, Jat Airways continues to operate all of its services as per usual, with passengers experiencing no inconvenience as a result.
